Service to the Community

PRISON DHARMA PROJECT

A group of four of CTBCC members has been conducting a weekly Dharma class to inmates at the Otero County Prison Facility in Chaparral, New Mexico, every Saturday from 1pm to 3pm since February 7, 2015. Although it is a small group of four inmates, the energy is very good and continues to grow. The inmates are not only interested in Buddhist philosophy but also practicing mindfulness and incorporating Dharma teachings into their daily activities. We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to practice giving Dharma. May we continue to have the capacity to give.

Want to contribute?

If you are familiar with Buddhist teachings and have been practicing Dharma regularly on a daily basis, you are welcome to join the group. Please contact us if you are interested.

All Our In-Person Activities are Suspended

Due to the more recent restrictions and recommendations made by local and national health authorities regarding the Coronavirus, CTBCC Officers and Board members have made the difficult decision to cancel all classes and activities at CTBCC until further notice.  We are sorry for the inconvenience, however, the health and safety of our members is our primary concern. As we contemplate the severity of this pandemic, we understand that this too is impermanent and when it passes we will resume our previous schedule in order to continue to provide you and our community with the precious teachings.
